More faithful than ever to its traditions and heritage, South Korea is constantly modernizing. It is in this apparent
paradox that a diversity of arts, techniques and know-how nestle. As vectors of culture and identity, they are part of
the “Korean wave” that is now sweeping the world. Through visits to the museums of modern art, craft workshops,
districts of remarkable architecture and an introduction to calligraphy, our escapade reveals the secrets of delicate,
refined design, the great pride of Korea.
OUR HIGHLIGHTS
• Visit Gyeongbokgung Palace, the “Palace of Resplendent Happiness”, one of five palaces dating from
the Choson (Joseon) Dynasty, and featuring the Folk Museum with its collection of objects from
traditional Korean life.
• Take a stroll along Insadong Street, a lively and bustling place where traditional antique objects are on
display, as well as numerous antique stores and art galleries.
• Discover the Seoul Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of Korea. Stroll through
the Jang Anpyeong antique market.
• Introduction to calligraphy, the Korean tradition of artistic writing.
• A choice of thematic art classes: traditional Korean macramé, fans and Jong-i jeobgi (paper folding).
• Meeting with Korean artists (painters, sculptors...).
