Day 8 JEJU ISLAND
Explore the island with Jeongbang Waterfall, the only
one in Asia to fall directly into the ocean. Continue to
Jeju Folk Village, designated a cultural preservation
zone, then to Sungsan Peak, a land mass created by a
volcanic eruption. Opportunity to meet the Haenyeo
(female divers).
Day 9 JEJU ISLAND - ULSAN - GYEONGJU
City tour of Gyeongju, nicknamed the “Museum without
Walls” and the former capital of the Shilla Kingdom.
Day 10 GYEONGJU
Visit the Gyeongju sites: Bulkugsa Temple and
Seokguram Grotto. This complex is considered a
masterpiece of Buddhist art in the Far East. Discover
the Noseo-dong Tombs, stroll through the Tumuli Park
dotted with 23 tombs of the Shilla Kingdom rulers and
their families, and visit the “Heavenly Horse” Tomb.
Final stop at the oldest observatory in the Far East, the
Cheomseongdae Tower.
Day 11 GYEONGJU - GAYASAN - DAEGU
Explore Gaya National Park and visit Haeinsa Temple,
built in 802 by two monks, it is the home to the Tripitaka
Koreana, the most complete collection of Buddhist texts,
engraved on 80,000 woodblocks
Day 12 DAEGU - ANDONG
Visit Andong, one of the last living vestiges of ancient
Korea, the cradle of Confucianism in Korea and the mask
dancing. Stroll through the traditional village of Andong
Hahoe and visit the Mask Museum.
Day 13 ANDONG - SEOUL
Discover Dosan Confucian Academy, a masterpiece of
Korean Confucian architecture, and visit Bongjeong
Temple, the oldest wooden building in South Korea.
Day 14 SEOUL - DEPART
