WORLD HERITAGE SITES

        This program is designed for fans of cultural and historical sites listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
        Discover the treasures of Japan.



        Day 1   TOKYO
                Welcome by our representative at the airport, transfer and check-in at the hotel.

        Day 2   TOKYO
                Discover the Asakusa district with the Senso-ji temple and stroll along the Sumida River. Visit the Meiji-jingū shrine, then immerse
                yourself in the Harajuku and Omotesando districts.

        Day 3    TOKYO - NIKKO - TOKYO
                 Full day in Nikko, famous for its richly decorated temples and shrines. The Tōshō-gū, dedicated to the shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, is a
                 must-see. Return to Tokyo at the end of the day.

                TOKYO - MOUNT FUJI - KAWAGUCHIKO
        Day 4
                Head for the lake region around Mount Fuji, in particular Kawaguchiko. Time to enjoy a beautiful view of the sacred volcano, and stroll
                along the lakeshore. You can also visit a local onsen. Overnight in Kawaguchiko.


        Day 5    KAWAGUCHIKO - KYOTO
                 Departure for Kyoto by shinkansen (high-speed train). Settle in this ancient imperial capital, the cultural heart of Japan. Stroll through
                 the Gion district in search of historic alleys.

        Day 6   KYOTO
                 Visit UNESCO-listed temples such as Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) and Ryoan-ji with its famous Zen garden. Visit Shimogamo Shrine or
                 Kiyomizu-dera Temple. End of the day at leisure in the old town.


         Day 7  KYOTO
                 Discover other UNESCO sites such as Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion), Nijo Castle or the Tōfuku-ji garden. You can also visit the Nishiki
                 market or take part in a tea ceremony.


         Day 8  KYOTO - NARA - KYOTO
                 Day trip to Nara, Japan's first capital, famous for its ancient temples. Visit the Tōdai-ji and its immense Buddha, as well as the Kasuga
                 Taisha shrine. Return to Kyoto in the late afternoon.

         Day 9   KYOTO - HIMEJI - KYOTO
                Morning departure for Himeji. Visit the majestic Himeji Castle, the best preserved in Japan. Possibility of visiting the Koko-en gardens
                before returning to Kyoto for the night.

         Day 10  KYOTO - HIROSHIMA
                Head for Hiroshima and visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, a poignant UNESCO site. Also visit the Peace Park and its moving museum.
                Overnight in Hiroshima.

         Day 11  HIROSHIMA - MIYAJIMA
                Excursion to the island of Miyajima, famous for its Itsukushima shrine and floating torii. Stroll through the island's narrow streets and
                climb or take the cable car up to Mount Misen. Overnight on the island.


         Day 12  MIYAJIMA - KUMANO KODO
                Travel to the mountainous Wakayama region to discover the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage paths. Settle into a ryokan, a traditional inn, or a
                temple for a spiritual night. Possibility of taking a thermal bath (onsen) in the evening.


         Day 13  KUMANO KODO - OSAKA
                Visit the Kumano Nachi Taisha shrine and the famous Nachi waterfall. Walk along a section of the pilgrimage path through centuries-
                old cedars. Return to Osaka in the evening.

         Day 14  OSAKA - TOKYO
                Day at leisure to shop, relax or discover modern districts such as Dotonbori (Osaka) or Shibuya (Tokyo).


         Day 15  TOKYO - DEPARTURE

        This program does not include all of Japan's UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A complete program including all sites is available upon request.
