TOKYO
Welcome by our representative at the airport, transfer and check-in at the hotel.
TOKYO
Day 2
Visit Ueno Park and Ameyoko, a former post-war black market. Exploration of the high-tech
district of Akihabara and the traditional Asakusa district with its Senso-ji temple.
Day 3 TOKYO
Visit the Yasukuni Jinja temple and Tsukiji open-air market, a mecca for Japanese
gastronomy. Free time in Ginza, a chic district combining luxury, fashion and gastronomy.
Day 4 TOKYO
Visit contemporary art galleries and meet an artist. Stroll through the nostalgic alleys of old
Tokyo. Evening with Kabuki dinner show in a secret restaurant.
Day 5 TOKYO - SENDAI
Departure for Nikko, with Toshogu and Futarasan shrines. Shinkansen (TGV) to Sendai and
ryokan accommodation.
Day 6 SENDAI - MATSUSHIMA - SENDAI
Excursion to Matsushima Bay and visit to the Zuiganji Zen temple, followed by a cruise in the
bay. Return to Sendai and overnight in a ryokan.
Day 7 SENDAI – TOKYO
Discover Sendai's emblematic sites: temples, shrines and downtown. Return to Tokyo by
train in the afternoon.
Day 8 TOKYO - KAMAKURA/ENOSHIMA - TOKYO
Excursion to Kamakura, a historic city of Zen temples and Shinto shrines. Admire the Great
Buddha and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine. Discover the island of Enoshima.
Day 9 TOKYO - MOUNT FUJI - KYOTO
Excursion to Mount Fuji with a stop at the Chureito pagoda. Walk along Lake Kawaguchi to
see Fuji from different angles. Transfer by Shinkansen to Kyoto.
Day 10
KYOTO
Visit the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and its park. Lunch at Nishiki market, the gourmet heart
of Kyoto. Stroll to Arashiyama with its bamboo grove and Tenryû-ji Zen temple.
Day 11 KYOTO
Visit Ryoan-ji temple, Kiyomizu temple perched on stilts and Fushimi Inari temple with its red
torii. Stroll through the alleys of the historic Gion district.
Day 12 KYOTO - OTSU - KYOTO
Excursion to the Shiga region on Lake Biwa, Japan's largest freshwater lake. Discover
Nagahama Castle and the Daigoji temple complex.
Day 13 KYOTO - OSAKA - KYOTO
Visit Osaka Castle and the Shinsaibashi district. Climb to the foot of Abenoharukas Tower, the
tallest in the country. Return to Kyoto with the opportunity to take part in an origami class.
Day 14 KYOTO - NARA - KYOTO
Day trip to Nara, former imperial capital with majestic temples. Explore Nara Park, where you
can see deer in the wild. Visit the Todai-ji complex and Horyu-ji temple, a Buddhist
architectural treasure.
Day 15 KYOTO - HIMEJI - KOBE - KYOTO
Visit to Himeji Castle, a feudal jewel. Discover Kobe, its port history and its famous beef.
Return to Kyoto in the evening.
Day 16 KYOTO - KANAZAWA
Departure for Kanazawa, city of samurai and handicrafts. Visit to Kenrokuen Garden and
Kanazawa Castle. Discover the old samurai and geisha quarters.
Day 17 KANAZAWA - KYOTO
Excursion to the listed village of Shirakawa-go with its thatched houses. Panoramic view from
the observatory of Ogi-Machi Castle. Return to Kanazawa for a market visit and sake tasting.
Day 18 KYOTO - HIROSHIMA - MIYAJIMA - KYOTO
Visit to the Peace Memorial Park and the Hiroshima Museum. Discovery of the sacred island
of Miyajima and Itsukushima floating shrine. Return to Kyoto.
